Celebrating the release of his 4th studio album, ‘Lessons of War’, Co. Down singer-songwriter and producer Matt McGinn makes a return to London.

Hailing from the foothills of the Mourne Mountains, Matt’s releases his 4th album this year titled ‘Lessons of War’. It features performances by incredible musicians from areas of war or conflict all around the world, as well as collaborations with some of the best Irish songwriters, including Mick Flannery and Ciaran Lavery.

“Well isn’t that just extraordinary?…A tune that jumps out of the speakers and shakes hands with your ears” Tom Robinson BBC Radio 6

“A track that puts goosebumps on your goosebumps, one of the finest singles of the year” Hotpress Magazine

Fantastic…stops you in your tracks.Lynette Fay of BBC Radio Ulster’s Folk Club

To say that Matt is a ‘jack of all trades’ is still selling him slightly short. He started life as a session musician, playing in bands that shared stages with the likes of Crosby, Stills & Nash and Elvis Costello. His songs found their way onto American television through other people’s voices. His skills behind the glass as a producer and mixer has become well sought after worldwide. Some years ago he found his own voice, watching and learning from the masters as he opened for everyone of every genre coming through the speakeasy’s of Belfast, from Peter Green and John Hammond Jnr, to KILA and Foy Vance.

Matt’s 3rd album ‘The End of the Common Man’ was released to massive acclaim in 2018. ‘Bubblegum’ the first single from his 2020 album ‘Lessons of War’ has already received more plays on BBC Radio in Northern Ireland, than the latest single from fellow locals, Snowpatrol.

And yet Matt’s ability to connect with an audience is his true strength. His energy and charisma on stage is infectious, and together with his incredible songs each carrying subtle messages of social awareness, listeners can be forgiven for not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
